- Who your agreement is with
Gateway Resort is the operating company of Gateway Holiday Park and The Gate Inn. References to ‘the Company’, ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ in these terms and conditions are to this company. References to ‘you’ in these terms and conditions are to you, as the person making this booking and, where applicable, to every member of your party.
- Alterations to your booking
Your booking shall be in accordance with the details confirmed at the time of booking. You may make alterations to your booking up to 48 hours before your arrival date. Any alterations to booking dates with less than 48 hours’ notice will not be authorised.
- Our service to you
We do all that we can to ensure you enjoy your stay with us. However, occasionally, problems occur and if they do or you have any concerns about your stay with us please tell the Park Reception immediately and we will respond to you as soon as possible. We will not be responsible for any matter which you knew about during your stay but did not tell us about during your stay. If any matter is not resolved during your stay, you must notify us in writing of this as soon as possible (and in any event within 14 days of the end of your stay) as otherwise we will not be able to consider the matter further.
- Cancellation by you
We sincerely hope you will not need to cancel your holiday with us; however, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. Should cancellation become necessary, several options are available:
4.1 Touring & Camping:
If you wish to retain your holiday but simply adjust the dates of your booking, we can hold the amount you have paid as a credit until you determine your new travel dates. Please provide us with at least 48 hours’ notice to allow time for us to resell your pitch. Your credit will remain valid for up to one year.
Additionally, you have the option of adding our ‘Holiday Protection Plan’ at the time of booking for an extra £3 (or £10 if your booking is for a month or longer). This plan allows you to receive a refund of the amount paid, minus the cancellation fee, provided you give us at least 48 hours’ notice.
Please note that if you cancel after 48 hours but before 24 hours, you will be eligible for a 50% credit on your account for future stays within the year; however, refunds are not available. Regrettably, if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will forfeit the amount paid, as we cannot offer a refund or credit in such cases.
Any stay where credit is applied- we cannot offer cancellation or readjustment for a second time.
4.2 Glamping Pods & Holiday Home:

- Cancellation or changes by us
In exceptional circumstances, we may have to cancel or change some aspects of your booking. If we do so, we will tell you as soon as possible prior to your arrival date and you may choose to either:
- a) Accept the changes offered by us b) Cancel your stay
We do not pay compensation in circumstances where we have to cancel your booking including those arising from Force Majeure. Force Majeure means circumstances beyond our control including (but not limited to) industrial disputes, natural disasters, fire, technical problems, bad weather and acts of government.
- Paying for your holiday
On booking your holiday with us, you will be required to pay a 50% deposit fee for your pitch. You will be offered the option of adding our ‘Holiday Protection Plan’ at the time of booking for an extra £3 (or £10 if your booking is for a month or longer). The balance of your booking will be due a week before your arrival date- you will receive an email reminder. Please note, the cancellation policy cannot be added once the booking is complete. If you wish to pay in full for your holiday you may do so. If you need alter your stay with us as, please refer to the guidelines set out in point 2 above. Please refer to point 4 if you are needing to cancel your stay.
6.1 Deposits
With regard to Glamping Pods a refundable security deposit of £100 per accommodation unit is required on arrival via debit card only. This deposit covers any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning costs incurred during your stay. The deposit will be issued within 48hrs of your departure, subject to satisfactory inspection of the accommodation. Please bear in mind- refunds can take between 7-10 working days. Any deductions made will reflect the actual cost of repair or replacement, and supporting evidence will be provided upon request. We also require a £10 cash deposits per key on arrival. Touring and camping electric pitches (excluding Wallabies) are required to pay a £5 cash deposit for the electric card. Key and card cash deposits will be refunded on departure.
- Prices
All prices are current at the time of your booking. All prices shown are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate at the time of payment.
- Special offers and discounts
Details of Special offers can be found on our website at www.gatewayresort.co.uk. All discounts and special offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn without prior notice. Special offers cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion and will only be honoured if mentioned at the time of booking. The price confirmed at the timpay; booking is the price you will pay; discounts cannot be applied retrospectively. Only one offer per booking.
- Arrival and departure times
Our Reception opening hours are from 9am to 5pm off peak and later during busier check-ins. If you arrive outside these hours, then the latest check in time will be 8pm at the main bar. Any arrival later than 8pm will incur a £10 fee.
- Standard of behaviour on our park

Is listed on any criminal register (including the Sex Offenders Register) or is subject to pending criminal proceedings;

Has been made subject to any court order or formal sanction relating to antisocial behaviour, violence, abuse, public disorder, criminal damage, or any other form of antisocial conduct;

Is a convicted sex offender and subject to the notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act 2003; or
-
Is subject to a Risk of Sexual Harm Order, Sexual Harm Prevention Order, Child Abduction Notice, or any similar safeguarding order.
As we are a family holiday park, we are unable to accept group bookings for young people under the age of 21, or large group bookings of the same sex. We ask that the behaviour of you and your party reflects the fact that we are a family focused resort. Noisy, offensive or inappropriate behaviour or actions likely to cause harm to any other guest, members of our staff or anyone’s property at the holiday park will not be tolerated and we reserve the right to refuse entry to and/or eject any person who, in the reasonable opinion of the management of the park, does not comply with these standards of behaviour. Please appreciate noise levels must be kept to a minimum after 10pm.
If, in the reasonable opinion of the management of the park, we believe that you or a member of your party may not comply with the above, on entry to the park, we reserve the right to refuse entry. All children must be properly supervised by parents or guardians throughout your stay, including all park organised activities- children under the age of 13 years are to be supervised at ALL times. We reserve the right to deny access to our facilities and/or any children’s activities if, in the reasonable opinion of the management of the park, we believe that any child or children will be unduly disruptive. You are responsible for any guests on site with you and any anti-social behaviour they cause. You are responsible for the actions of any guests accompanying you and for any antisocial behaviour they may exhibit. No refunds will be issued under any of the above circumstances.
- Pets
Some breeds of dogs including those listed in the Dangerous Dog Act 1991 are not allowed. Please provide us with the details of the breed of your dog when you book with us. Other pets may be permitted at the discretion of the park management, please check when booking. Pets must be kept on a lead at all times, and you must clean up after your pet. Pets (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed in any of our park facilities or play areas. Maximum of 2 dogs per pitch. £50 on the spot fine for any dog fowling.
- Availability of facilities
Most facilities operate on a first come first serve basis. Occasionally we hold ticketed events which are bookable via our website, subject to availability. For health and safety reasons some of our facilities have age and/or height restrictions. Please check these with us when you book. In our swimming pool, children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult in the water; children between the ages of 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult pool side. At busy times access to facilities may be restricted for health and safety reasons. We may operate session swims in our pool during periods of high demand.
Please note for the safety of your children we have a one adult to two children ratio policy in our swimming pool at our staff’s discretion. Occasionally we may need to close or withdraw certain facilities (e.g. for safety, maintenance or other reasons beyond our control).
- Entertainment
The Company will endeavour to provide the entertainment as advertised in the brochure and on the website. We reserve the right to alter or withdraw any facilities or programmed entertainment without prior notice.
- Your car
You should comply with speed limits, parking and other traffic regulations on our park. All vehicles are brought onto the holiday park at their owner’s risk and the Company does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to these except where it is caused by our negligence or fault.
- Publications
Whilst every care is taken to ensure that the details in our documents and advertisements on display on our Holiday Caravan Park, on our website and our social media are correct at the time of being published; the photographic images shown are for illustration purposes only and the details may be subject to alteration.
- Caravan and camping
Pitch sizes vary from field to field. If you consider your Caravan, Camper or RV to be large, please indicate on booking or call our reception so that we can accommodate your requirements. Unfortunately, we do not accept the following makes/models: Hobby, LMC, Tabbert and Fendt.
If for any reason you leave your caravan or tent on site for longer than your booked stay, Gateway will charge you the full cost of the pitch for every subsequent day it is left. If Gateway needs to remove your caravan or tent from the pitch, there will be a £100 removal fee and storage of your property will be at £10 per day thereafter.
16.1 Awnings & Tents
Please note that during the winter months (October-March) we will not be allowing any awnings or tents up on site. During our season months, all types of awnings/tents will only be allowed at the discretion of Gateway Resort. A member of our team will contact you prior to arrival to inform you if awnings/tents are not allowed during your stay. Our decision is based on many factors, such as the weather forecast and the condition of the ground/pitches. Please see point 5 in the instance where the Company needs to make necessary changes.
- Roadways and vehicles
Any commercial vehicles or heavy goods vehicles i.e. Lorries, trucks, vans, and trailers are not permitted on site. No unauthorised vehicles can be permitted access on to site. All vehicles are to be parked on your allocated pitch only. Please refrain from parking around the outskirts of the Main Complex or on the grass (you will be asked to move). Any damage you cause to your pitch, or any other pitch on site, will incur a charge dependant on the extent of the damage. All roadways within the park are governed by the Highway Code rules, speeding and drink driving are reportable offences. Please refer to point 14 about vehicle damage liability.
- Entrance ANPR system
Once your holiday balance has been paid, we will enter your vehicle reg number(s) onto our ANPR system for the duration of your holiday (eliminating the need for a barrier fob). Unauthorised vehicles will not be permitted access onto site.
- Your property
Your property is your responsibility. Gateway Resort or its employees cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss suffered whilst on the site. You are responsible for insuring your own caravan and its contents at all times, Gateway Resort Ltd takes no responsibility for any loss or damage caused at any time.
- Park rules
Any rules breached will lead to expulsion from the site.

These terms and conditions and our privacy policy (see website) are presumed to be accepted by yourself and all members of your party at the time of booking your stay with Gateway Resort.
